Accessing Bandung

Bandung is located 768 metres (2,520 ft) above sea level, approximately 140 km southeast of Jakarta. With such altitude, the city has cooler temperatures year-around than most other Indonesian cities. Bandung can be accessed through 4 highways from Jakarta, while most travellers for the country's capital city will take Cipularang toll road that will consume hassle free of about 2 hours of driving.

 

By Plane

Bandung's Hussein Sastranegara (IATA: BDO) is located at the end of Pajajaran Street, 4 km from the centre of the city. Grand Royal Panghegar is approximately 15-minute drive from Bandung's Husein Sastranegara International Airport. Most Bandung hotels will provide airport pick-up. 

Some airlines serving Bandung:

  • Air Asia - operates thrice daily flights from Kuala Lumpur and twice daily from Singapore and Denpasar/Bali and Medan once a day (no-frill airline).
